Graphics Four-Color Process: Controlling the Variables
This SGIA workshop will allow students to discuss methods for gaining control over all aspects of the process with industry experts, make extensive use of printed samples, practical densitometer exercises and live printing to master the task of printing process color. Students are encouraged to bring samples of their production problems for personalized help throughout the week. Students will learn how to use a densitometer to measure and control density and percent dot, control critical variables in color separations, create a screen to produce quality four-color prints, troubleshoot and analyze print results, implement a step-by-step process for "fingerprinting" their presses and gauge process printing variables and their affect on color reproduction.
